Duty Engineer

Job Brief

The Duty Engineer is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Engineering Department by ensuring the efficient maintenance and functionality of the property’s facilities, equipment, and systems. The role supervises and performs the scheduled servicing of MEPF (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection) systems, coordinates maintenance activities, and ensures timely resolution of operational and guest-related engineering concerns. The Duty Engineer also assists in work scheduling, monitors fuel usage and spare parts inventory, and supports special projects to maintain safe, reliable, and efficient building operations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in maintaining efficient engineering operations and supporting all departments.
  • Supervise and perform scheduled servicing of MEPF systems (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection).
  • Monitor fuel deliveries, storage, and usage in accordance with established procedures.
  • Assist in preparing weekly work schedules based on workload and priorities.
  • Oversee maintenance requests and ensure timely completion, especially guest-related concerns.
  • Supervise special projects and day-to-day engineering activities.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and prepare orders to maintain emergency stock levels.
  • Handle guest and associate inquiries professionally, escalating issues when necessary.

Job Qualifications

  • Licensed Mechanical Engineer / Electrical Engineer.
  • At least 1-year relevant experience in hotel /mall / property management / engineering operations.
  • Knowledgeable of complex system of chilled water system, electrical substation, water distribution, and fire protection system.
  • Well communication skill with all levels of the organization and external parties.
  • Able to handle multi-tasks.
