Senior Business Analyst, Application Development

Job Brief

The Senior Business Analyst, Application Development is responsible for coordinating and documenting application requirements from business units and translating business needs into clear, actionable deliverables for application development. This role requires an experienced analyst who can gather, analyze, validate, prioritize, and manage requirements while facilitating alignment between business stakeholders, LaVie IT/development teams, MSP resources, vendors, and other stakeholders. The ideal candidate has practical experience preparing user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, functional specifications, and backlog items, while applying Scrum methodologies and evidence-based management approaches to support iterative value delivery.

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with business units to gather, analyze, validate, prioritize, and document application requirements.
  • Translate business needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, functional specifications, and backlog items.
  • Facilitate requirements clarification and alignment among business units, LaVie IT/development teams, MSP resources, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Support backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and other Scrum events to enable agile delivery.
  • Coordinate requirements prioritization, traceability, change requests, approvals, and sign-offs with business owners and delivery teams.
  • Document current-state and future-state processes, business rules, data needs, dependencies, risks, and decision logs.
  • Work with development and quality assurance teams to clarify acceptance criteria, support user acceptance testing, and validate delivered functionality against agreed requirements.
  • Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, functional specifications, backlog items, and stakeholder decisions.
  • Monitor requirement-related issues, risks, scope changes, and dependencies, and communicate impacts to stakeholders and Application Development leadership.
  • Maintain positive and collaborative working relationships with team members, cross-functional departments, vendors, and business stakeholders.

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in business analysis, requirements management, or product ownership for application development projects.
  • Strong practical experience in requirements gathering, analysis, validation, prioritization, documentation, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and backlog items.
  • Experience coordinating requirement clarifications, prioritization, traceability, approvals, and sign-offs with business units, IT teams, vendors, and MSP resources.
  • Practical knowledge of Scrum Guide methodologies, Agile practices, backlog management, and evidence-based management approaches.
  • Familiarity with application development lifecycles, user acceptance testing, and tools such as Azure DevOps is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written knowledge of English.
  • Relevant tertiary education in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
